“Flirting is both a skill and an art with a spice of timing”

When a close friend ask my opinion about the thought of flirtation being both a skill and an art with a spice of timing, I've tried to gather my deepest thoughts to give my views in a manner that it wouldn't break the shell that encloses human understanding. :D So here it is...

“Flirting is both a skill and an art with a spice of timing”

Flirting is a human nature; we can't resist it.

A wink, a little shoulder gripping, a curious smile, “flirting” is commonly considered a way for people to show an interest in each other without coming out and saying it. Flirting can sometimes come naturally in person who is attracted to someone. Evidently, flirting is indeed both a skill and an art for it shows an ability of a person to do it in a creative way of showing fascination and attractiveness to someone. Everybody flirts. Life is nugatory without flirting. By flirting, we mean gleaming our internal light through our words and deeds in such a way that people are attracted to us irresistibly. It is our innate impulse and an essential facet of human communication.

Accordingly, a person do flirt when we want to show someone affection. We flirt when we want attention. We flirt because flirting lays the foundation to any relationship. But flirting techniques differentiate just as people’s personalities differentiate and successfully form a relationship depending on the technique (and what kind of person you are trying to flirt with). There are those who flirt with crude pick-up lines, there are those who flirt with nice deeds, and there are those who flirt from afar.

Furthermore, psychological studies shows that the art of flirting, in all of its continuation of complexity has always had a tremendously powerful impact on every single aspect of human soul which incessantly craves for attention and, ultimately, a never ending recognition from the opposite sex. We, as human beings, are constantly involved in a perpetual concept of soul-searching and ego boosting and what better way to reassure ourselves than to display tiny little pieces of our charisma through flirt.
Hence, flirting is indeed both a skill and an art with a spice of timing – the timing of when to do it, and the skill and art on how to express it.

ROADS OF LIFE

We are each travelers of this world. We are headed somewhere every day. Sometimes we have the adventurer’s spirit to explore, to see how far we can get, how high we can climb and along the way, sometimes we must change trains. We have our own freedom which way to go, what things to choose and what chances and opportunities to take. And also, along the way, sometimes the rail we ride gets off track. These are accidents, trials, hardships, or circumstances. Life happens. Oftentimes, we tread to the unknown; we tend to be overwhelmed of our fears. We get tired, weary, confused and sometimes wander. We lose our way. The weight of life presses down.
But we have to remember that along our journey to this road of life, if we always choose the easy way, asking for the peaceful valleys, we will never see God’s power displayed to enable us to take a mountain. Seek out the mountains, and we will witness God doing things through our life that can be explained only by His mighty presence.

In the storm and under pressure, remember that God not only works all things for our own good, but He also redeems our lives and works through us all as well. If we are able by God’s grace to receive the truth that every single things in our lives will work together for good, and the kind of traveler we are will transform us not only to embrace our circumstances but ultimately the purpose of our lives, “to become more like Christ”.  J

Let us allow ourselves to go for mountains in our lives to see the greater glory and grace of our Lord. To take  every hardships and trials as challenges and opportunity to grow and be more closer to Our God.

I JUST DON’T GET IT

I don't actually get to understand people who are so bitter and pessimistic about the unfairness of life. Well, for me life is fair, it's just others knows how to handle it better. Why not see the positive side and the blessings of life?

As I’ve said, I believe that life is fair and yes, it is. Life would never be life unless you will live with it. The more you are on it, the more it make sense.  Why would you stressed yourself of all the troubles, challenges, circumstances and problems that comes along when you can enjoy the race and have fun? All those things are the common perils of life, and some people consider it as cruel realities of life.

We are each travelers of this world and we are headed somewhere every day. Sometimes, we have the adventurer’s spirit to explore, to see how far we can get, and how high we can climb. Sometimes we must change trains and at times also, the rail we ride gets off track. That’s okay because in life, accidents happen. We tread to the unknown, we get tired and sometimes weary. We tend to be confused and sometimes wander. We lose our way. The weight of life presses us down. Storms come. You don’t get the job you counted on, a friend betrayed you, and so on.  In this life, it’s common that we people strive hard to be better every day. We want to accomplish great things and we carry with us our biggest dreams.

However, there are really people who don’t see the beauty of life and taste the goodness of the Lord. People who keeps on complaining instead of making moves to improve his or her life, people who keep on looking other peoples’ mistakes and people who don’t even know how to share a smile. I just don’t get these people. Why don’t they try to pull some strings of happiness? Why don’t they try to be like those people who still savor the goodness of life despite its flaws and weaknesses? Why? Are they that down and hopeless to not even try to give their best?

Our greatest privilege is to enjoy God’s presence - to enjoy the race, to enjoy life. As we taste the goodness and love of Our Lord, He will reveal to us His creativity, holiness and faithfulness. Our Father must look on with enjoyment as we learn to enjoy and savor Him.

God is working things out for you, even when you don't feel it. Have faith and be thankful.

Love-at- first sight

Do you believe in Love -at- first sight?

"YES, I believe in love at first sight. It's because... like this and like that and so on and so fourth..."

As I've picked the question during our sharing last Tuesday in our prayer meeting, I didn't actually have an ample time to think of a better answer. I was caught by the moment I picked the question. Until now, I couldn't think of a more precise reason why I answered it that way. A day had passed and I'm still thinking about it and yet not certain if I've answered it honestly or I just felt a zing of a moment that time.

I keep on asking myself, "do I really believe in love at first sight? Do I or not?" and then, ding! the wind blows my mind and clear the thoughts I have... I realized that I actually should have answered NO.  I just realized that my answer wasn't that honest as I've thought it was. Maybe during that very moment, I just didn't realized how dense and lengthy the question was. Might also be that the time given to me to answer the question was not enough to think of a precise and a much more upright and a well-thought answer.

Nevertheless, as I've now realized my answer to that question I've come to think that love isn't always found at  first sight. Maybe for some people they proved it true but for me, I actually don't think you will feel love at first sight. It could possibly be that, "you LIKE at first sight". In my point of view, love isn't something you immediately give to someone at first encounter (I am talking here of such stranger to one another persons).

As one of my brother in the community said, "love isn't a responsibility but an obligation", thus, how will you feel obligated when you don't even know the person yet. Love grows when you've come to know the person more. It happens when you are there to watch each other grow. Liking is definitely different from loving. Love is a deeper feeling than liking. As one of my favorite idol also said, "liking is the feeling of a dandelion gently landing on the ground - it's warm and joyous. Love is the feeling of watching a dandelion seed growing on the ground and eventually blossoming. If it's liking, it can be the dandelion seed that comes and goes with the wind. However, if it's love, for it to blossom, you have to water it and shield it from the wind and you have to take special care of it."

In the same way, I looked at love like that. It takes a lot to know what is love, it's not the big things but the little things that can mean enough. There are also times when love comes and grows out from likeness. Maybe you'll like the person first and eventually you'll learn to love the person in him or her.
Essentially, love gives us different lessons everyday. It will teach us the important things we should also be learning in this God-given life - how to forgive, to trust, to understand, to accept, to appreciate, and to be compassionate.  And out of love also, we keep on doing things like this and like that. It's the love we have for someone that most of the time motivates and inspires us to keep on going, to persevere with, to hold on and believe, to listen and trust, to fight and live, to laugh, to share hugs and comforts  in continuing the journey each day despite life's imperfections.

As to my answer to the question, I can now firmly and honestly say that I had given the wrong answer at first, but now... I just realized that Love doesn't come at first sight.

That's how I understand it

In this God given life, time comes when you grasp and become conscious that as you grow, more responsibilities come your way. It seemed that you are embracing a wider range of role and a weightier mission to take upon yourself.
Evidently, the journey of life is not that easy, it has many roads to take, things to consider, actions to meditate upon, and a lot more bits and pieces to ponder.  As Shiela Walsh emphasizes in her book entitled “God’s Promises”, she remarkably said that we become travelers through this world, we are headed somewhere every day  and sometimes we have the adventurer’s spirit to explore, to see how far we can get and how high can we climb and at times, we must change trains. There will always be times when the rail we ride gets off track. As travelers, we treat into the unknown; we get tired, weary, confused and sometimes wander. We lose our way and the weight of life presses down. Storms come and the battle began.  Well, that is life and as it goes; our maturity comes with more responsibility.
Accordingly, to live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. Human as we are, it is common that we tend to be afraid of rejection and being wronged by others but then, we must be reminded that by our mistakes and failures in life, it is the time when we evidently gain learning's and understandings how to live life to its fullest. By those mistakes and failures we encounter along the way, we then become reminded to be strong and to have a greater faith in GOD. There will always be something good tucked in suffering.
There is no need to drag yourself through life, let go of the struggle and give yourself the time and love to find balance. Sometimes, it is hard to understand what God really want to happen and simply we trust Him, and we know He will give what is best for us.
And because God is simply amazing & His goodness endures forever and always, never quit on believing that life can always be better
The good thing about life is that, even though it is clothed with imperfections, behind it are the perfect reasons engineered by GOD.
Life can always be better if you just know how to handle…

LIFE IS A BOOK ♥

Life is indeed a book.

It has always been a good book, and the further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense. It is clothed with many chapters that we call the seasons of life. Along each chapters, we encounter different people that will give us their own stories of life, may it be a story of love, comedy, drama, loss, growth and many more.  Life can never be life if you won't live by it. Have the courage and faith to keep turning the pages, believing that better chapters lie ahead. Allow God to be the author and finisher of your life.
TRUST. LISTEN. BELIEVE. Grow in God's word. Be grateful and be fruitful. When it is true, when it is right, love can give you the kind of joy that you can't get from any other experiences.

The Promise of Hope and Comfort

God has said, " Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. " So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. "

At times, life gets hard and losses threaten to strip us of hope rather than cover us with increased faith. Suffering sits down, takes you firmly by the hand and gives you a slide show of your life and you're left feeling more alone in darkness than ever.
But still, our experiences with pain and struggle, trouble and hardships do not diminish the promises of God at all. We're confronted with hard reality and God's promise to help us, to never leave us, suddenly feels false simply because we wrestle with our many contrary feelings. We smile and say things are okay. God doesn't want us to pretend our faith or give lip service to His promises. God wants us to "be restless on the journey and confident in the destination." God will always be there even when we don't feel Him, and sometimes, when we least expect it but most need it, believing can mean seeing.
God's promises are so much greater than our feelings. They are sound and sure, the stuff to nail our heart to in the worst travails of life. That is how great is our God, the one that will lead us to the place of beauty and comfort. ♥

God bless us all :))

What’s next?

What’s next after graduation? Are you equipped for what lies ahead once you wander across the graduation stage? Will you be able to steer and guide yourself through the next stage of the unknown?

Life after graduation has many options to choose from. You may want to take a rest, or a long vacation. You may want to search for a job right away, or decide on to study again.
All of these look like good choices and common options for future graduates, and like a multiple-choice question, we are asked to choose the best answer. Fortunately, life is not an exam in college, and it can be instructed while figuring it out.

The most common connotation is this, “a lot of planning is required every step of the way, from applying for a first job, to growing careers and choosing to study again, thus, after you've marched with your toga and received your hugs from your beloved classmates, take time to rest and plan your career”.

Evidently, graduates of College of Arts and Social Sciences are not just grounded with an education with great apprehension, comprehension, understanding with wisdom but also with a tank of knowledge and nurtured and developed skills that will serves as the light for better living in the future. Nevertheless, the future graduates of CASS are molded with the core values of commitment, integrity, teamwork, accountability and excellence.

Hence, with the core values instilled in the graduates, there are many options and possible choices of what to do next after graduation. The main thing is, follow what heart wants and enjoy the success you’ve gained. Life will be better if you just know how to handle.

Love letters in the sand
Written by Charles Kenny, Nick Kenny and J. Fred Coots

 On a day like today
We pass the time away
Writing love letters in the sand
How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand
You made a vow that you
Would always be true
But somehow, that vow
Meant nothing to you
Now my poor heart just aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand

To You My Dear :)

Mui, seeing you hurting makes my heart ache :( I may not know how heavy the burden inside you,but I do feel for you. I can see it in your eyes, the way
you sometimes forced to smile and being strong. I am truly sorry for feeling such. Sometimes in life, we become weary and tired, confused and sometimes wander,
that's what we call the seasons of life. We may not directly understand the things that had happen, is happening or about to happen in our life, but simply trust
the will of GOd. There are times when you will feel like giving up, so worn out and stressed that you are not sure you can take another step.
But remember that God is teaching you to trust in His timing. We cannot escape life's sorrows but we can temper our grief with hope that Christ Jesus
will be there for us, for He will comfort us. The troubles we face each day, reveals how much we need the Lord; they test our faith and strength.
Whatever comes our way, whatever battle we have raging inside, and whatever extra baggages you were carrying, you will always have a choice. Remember that life is
a matter of choice, it will always be the choices that make you who you are and you could choose to do what is right.
As for you my dear, choose to be the best of yourself. I know you're a good person with an amazing personality.
Some people may not understand you the way you are but what's important is that "we" the people who loves you, believe and trust in you.
In this God given life, time comes when you grasp and become conscious that as you grow, more responsibilities comes your way.
It seemed that you are embracing a wider range of role and a more weighty mission to take upon yourself.
However, the journey of life is not that easy, it has many roads to take, things to consider, actions to meditate upon, and a lot more bits and pieces to ponder.

The good thing about life is that, even though it is clothed with imperfections,

I love you Mui, you know that. I will be here if you need someone. God bless you.
